Should prisoners be entitled to ART?

I started writing this post a day before I found my mom in a coma after being attacked.  She never recovered, and so this post became a much more personal issue for me – on one hand, I’m the surviving victim of a crime, and on the other hand, I’m a proponent of the right for everyone to have the ability to conceive.  This is what I wrote originally, and I have added my thoughts afterwards. Does Stress affect IVF outcomes?

There seems to be much debate on the role of stress in fertility and IVF.  Stress seems to be the ‘go-to’ thing  to blame ourselves for when we know we did everything else perfectly, not to mention the advice at least 95% of us will be subjected to – “just relax”/ “take a holiday”, etc. etc. Telling someone who has lost a child, or who has difficulty conceiving, not to stress is beyond annoying -it’s also futile.
